Richard Bunt joined the construction law firm of Gill and Baldwin in 1992, first as a law clerk for managing partner Kirk MacDonald and senior partner John Carmack, and then as an attorney in 1993.
Richard’s background in construction began in 1979, in Tucson, Arizona, working in various trades in the field for 5 years, including carpentry/framing, concrete, and commercial painting.
Richard graduated with distinction from the University of Arizona in 1986, worked abroad in Japan for 2 years, and then graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1991.
Richard began representing clients as a sole practitioner in 2002, primarily representing general contractors and subcontractors in construction related matters. Richard has represented clients in over 300 cases, in Superior, Municipal, Federal, and Bankruptcy courts, and American Arbitration Association and JAMS arbitrations and mediations. Those matters have involved both public and private works projects, including enforcement of clients’ mechanic’s lien, stop notice, and bond rights, as well as construction defect claims, contract claims, and contractors license bond claims.
Richard has also assisted clients in commercial lease disputes, partnership disputes, corporate matters including formation and dissolution, and contract review.
Richard joined The Chou Firm as of counsel in January, 2025.
